About me

I'm a Ph.D. student in the Probabilistic and Statistical Inference group. I am also affiliated with the Communications, Machine Learning and Computational Biology groups at the University of Toronto. My current research interests lie primarily at the intersection of machine learning and statistics with computational systems biology. I am interested in applications to problems involving complex high-dimensional data sets in fields such as genomics, population genetics and information retrieval.

Research

Using expression profiling data to identify human microRNA targets

Joint work with the Gallie lab (Ontario Cancer Institute/Princess Margaret Hospital), Blencowe, Hughes and Morris labs (Banting and Best Department of Medical Research, University of Toronto)

Integrating functional genomics data with genetics to help understand human disease

Joint work with John Winn, Anitha Kannan (Microsoft Research Cambridge) and Richard Durbin, Manolis Dermitzakis (Wellcome Trust Sanger Institute)
